Jobsharing
At Mercedes-Benz Mobility, we offer a variety of flexible working time models tailored to the needs of our employees. In addition to part-time, flexitime and mobile working, job sharing is a particularly exciting concept: two employees share a full-time position and take on the tasks and responsibilities of one position together, working either in parallel or alternately.
Not only does this model allow for greater flexibility in working hours and personal life, but it also opens up the possibility of taking on challenging leadership roles that would often not be possible in a part-time position.
But the benefits of jobsharing go far beyond flexibility. Discover for yourself what our tandem couples have experienced, how they organise their day-to-day work and what really matters in a shared position.
There are many reasons for jobsharing. Often it is about balancing work and family life, as was originally the case for Gesine. Today, she makes much more use of the free time she has gained for personal interests and realizes how much this also benefits her professionally. For Thomas, the motivation to move into a management role was great - at the same time he was looking for more time to pursue his sporting passions. Job sharing allowed him to combine the two. Read the interview to find out more about their different motivations and how they share their roles.
In a tandem, it's like any relationship: you need shared values, a similar vision for the future and trust. For Luise and Kristina, these are the cornerstones of their tandem role. But there are many other factors that make for a successful and harmonious working relationship. In their interview, they explain how they work together effectively, what their three tips for successful job sharing are and how speed dating has helped them.
Balancing professional ambitions with family commitments can be a significant challenge, especially for women with children in higher management positions. In their interview, Tanja and Carolin provide fascinating insights into how they successfully manage their demanding roles despite working part-time and balancing family life. For both of them, precise organization is essential, but the exchange with a peer sparring partner also plays a crucial role.
