Miriam, Teamlead of Business Intelligence | Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG

“Hey everyone! I am Miriam and I am happy to be the team lead of our Business Intelligence team at Mercedes-Benz Leasing Deutschland (a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG).

Our team is responsible for building and expanding our data platform of Mercedes-Benz Mobility. It’s an exciting endeavor as we work on two fronts: assisting our internal customers in meeting regulatory requirements as a regulated company and contributing to our strategy goal “Go for data.” This means we are striving to become a data-driven company by enabling all our colleagues to access and utilize our data, while also creating measurable value for our customers.

One of the things I absolutely love about my job is the dynamic, innovative, and diverse team that I have the privilege to work with. Collaborating with passionate individuals within our team, Mercedes-Benz Leasing Deutschland, Mercedes-Benz Mobility, and Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India fuels our drive to leverage data and scale our solutions.

For me, lifelong learning and continuous personal and professional development are of utmost importance. It is essential to embrace the ever-changing world we live in by stepping out of our comfort zones and remaining open-minded. At Mercedes-Benz Leasing Deutschland, we foster an active failure culture where we encourage our team members to experiment, iterate quickly, learn from failures, and grow fast. It is through this culture that we push boundaries and strive for innovation.

As for my journey to my current position, it was not a traditional path. My background is in business and economics, rather than computer science. However, five years ago, I made the decision to leave my job at a consulting firm and venture into a completely new business area that I was passionate about—systems and data. Two years ago, I seized the opportunity to build a new company from the ground up, which led me to Mercedes-Benz Leasing Deutschland. It has been an incredible ride, filled with challenges and triumphs, and I wouldn’t change a thing!”
